General Folder Management

You can yourself, either in a course folder, or within My Folder.

You administrate your own My Folder and other folders you have created yourself.

Personal Folders / My Folder

Personal folders are located under My Folder and are only available to employees ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡. These folders may be used to upload videos that aren't connected to a course or similar. By default, no one else has access to your personal folders. It is however possible to share videos from them.

Share Folders and Files

Depending on where a video is placed, you can share videos or entire folders within Panopto.

If you use Canvas, your students will automatically be granted access to the course folder within Panopto.

Move and Copy Files and Folders

If a video is placed incorrectly, or you want to move it, it is possible to do so in Panopto. It is also possible to copy files and folders to have them at multiple places in Panopto.

If you want to copy a video it is recommended to use reference copy instead of a normal copy. This is because a reference copy will point to the main video instead of creating a seperate copy. The advantage of this is that administrating the video in the future will become easier as the video will only be in one place.

Publishing and Setting Availability on Videos

If you do not want a video to be published immediately after uploading it is possible to change this for the video or the folder you are uploading to. You may want to not publish before you have gone through the recording, added captions, or wait for a specific date before publishing.
