--------------
As of autumn 2025, the Department of Informatics will offer a new course “Data Governance” IN5560. The course is going to provide an interdisciplinary, sociotechnical perspective on the topic of data governance, by unpacking the organizational, technological, and legal dimensions of collecting, sharing and re-using data on a societal, organizational, and individual level. The topics covered in the course include, but are not limited to: data management, data architecture, data privacy and law, and data as foundations for artificial intelligence technologies.
The course is going to be based on a case-based research methodology, where students will be working on real-world cases related to these topics, both from a Norwegian and from an international context. Students will be expected to prepare and actively discuss these cases in class.
The source is going to be available for all students at the Department of Informatics, with certain programs being given admission priority.
