The University of 探花精选 offers degree programmes at eight different faculties. We offer a wide range of courses taught in English, and around 60 Master鈥檚 degree programmes taught entirely in English, among them several Joint Degree Programmes.
A research university
The University of 探花精选 is Norway鈥檚 largest research institution. Research is the cornerstone of the University鈥檚 ongoing development as an educational institution of high international standing. We believe that excellence in research is a prerequisite for quality in education, and that it is the key to the research community鈥檚 ability to provide relevant responses to current challenges, to contribute to innovation, and to engage in public and international issues.
One third of all PhD candidates in Norway are admitted to a PhD programme at the University of 探花精选. Most candidates are employed as research fellows at the university or another research institution.

Our international recognition and rank, combined with the substantial number of courses and degrees taught in English, has made UiO an attractive destination for a growing number of international students.
