What is VPN and what is it used for?
- VPN is a technology used to establish secure encrypted connections over the Internet.
- At UiO, we use Cisco Secure Client (AnyConnect) technology to create this secure connection.
- At UiO, VPN is built into the system in UiO-operated Windows PCs. If you have a Mac, iPad, other tablet or similar, you may need to install a VPN for specialized tasks. Not many people need to use a VPN.
